# Adding assets to the library

Building up the library is what makes it useful. Here's how to add content.

> ⚠️ Requires org role **Admin** or **Pro**.

## Add a new item

1. Click **Library** in the left sidebar.
2. Click **+ Add item** in the top right.
3. Upload the file or paste the URL.
4. Give the item a **name**.
5. Optionally, add a **description** and **tags**.
6. Click **Save**.

The item is immediately available to everyone in your workspace.

## Naming items

A clear name is what makes items findable months later. Use a consistent pattern:

- `Case study — Acme Corp (fintech, 500 users)`
- `Deck — Enterprise sales master (2026 Q1)`
- `Video — Product demo (3 min)`
- `Legal — Standard MSA v3.2`

## Adding tags

Tags are the primary way items get organized. Each item can have multiple tags.

Common tag patterns:

- **Segment** — `SMB`, `Mid-market`, `Enterprise`
- **Industry** — `Finance`, `Healthcare`, `SaaS`
- **Use case** — `Onboarding`, `Renewal`, `Expansion`
- **Content type** — `Case study`, `Deck`, `Legal`, `Demo`
- **Time period** — `Q1 2026`, `2025`

See [Organizing library content](https://katalyz.crisp.help/en/article/organizing-library-content-1irx7d6/) for more on tagging conventions.

## Editing an item's metadata

Click any item in the library to open it, then edit its name, description, or tags. Changes apply immediately to the library listing.

Note: editing the library version does **not** update rooms that already use this item — it's a copy-based model.

## Bulk actions

The library item grid supports multi-select:

- **Bulk tag** — tick multiple items, then apply (or remove) tags across all of them at once.
- **Bulk delete** — tick multiple items and remove them in a single action.

(The Manage tags modal itself doesn't have a bulk-select on tags — see [Organizing library content](https://katalyz.crisp.help/en/article/organizing-library-content-1irx7d6/) for that distinction.)
