# Cancelling your subscription

Katalyz subscriptions are term contracts (12, 24 or 36 months). Cancelling means not renewing at the end of the term, with notice. Here's how it works and what to do before you leave.

## Your term, renewal and notice

Your plan card shows either **Renews {date}** (tacit renewal is on — the contract auto-renews for another term unless you give notice) or **Ends {date}** (fixed end). Your contract states a **notice period** (typically 60 days) before the term end.

To cancel, email **contact@katalyz.co** or your account manager **before the notice period starts**, stating the workspace and the effective date. You'll get a written confirmation with the date your access ends.

## What happens at the end date

- Until then, everything keeps working — rooms stay live for your buyers.
- After the end date, the workspace is read-only for a **30-day grace period**: you can log in, download content and signed documents, but not create rooms or invite people. Buyers opening a room see **"This space is on hold"** with a **Request access** button that notifies you.
- Data is then retained for **90 days** in case you come back, then deleted according to our retention policy (signed legal documents are kept as required by law).

## Before you leave, download what matters

1. **Signed documents** — from the **Signatures** page (**Completed** tab).
2. **Library assets** — from the content library.
3. **Recordings and transcripts** — from **Meetings**.
4. **Custom property values** — ask us for a CSV export.

## Reactivating

Within the grace period, contact **contact@katalyz.co**: we reactivate with zero data loss. Later reactivation is possible but may mean re-onboarding.

## Alternatives to cancelling

- **Reduce seats at renewal** — see [Adding seats](https://katalyz.crisp.help/en/article/adding-or-removing-seats-1xzkfdy/).
- **Drop a module** you don't use (Recording or Signature) at renewal.
