# Connecting Claap

Claap is a meeting recording and coaching platform. Connecting Claap to Katalyz lets you embed Claap recordings directly in rooms.

> ⚠️ Requires org role **Admin**. Requires an active Claap account.

## Connection procedure

The connection happens in three stages: create an API key and a webhook on the Claap side, then paste the values into Katalyz.

### 1. On the Claap side — create an API key

1. In Claap, open **Personal Settings → API & Webhooks → API tab**.
2. Click **Create API key**.
3. Name it (e.g. *"Katalyz API key"*) and confirm — **note the key**, you'll need it at step 3.

### 2. On the Claap side — create the webhook

1. Still in **API & Webhooks**, go to the **Webhooks** tab.
2. Click **Create webhook**.
3. Fill in:
   - **Webhook name**: e.g. *"Katalyz integration"*
   - **Events**: pick **Recording added** and **Recording updated**
   - **Callback URL**: paste the Webhook URL shown in Katalyz when you start setting up Claap (the "Connect Claap" popup). Format: `https://api.katalyz.co/claap/webhook/<TENANT>`
   - Toggle **Include AI fields in the payload** based on your needs
4. Click **Create webhook** — **note the webhook secret** (used at step 3).

### 3. On the Katalyz side — paste the credentials

In **Settings → Integrations** → **Claap** → **Connect**, in the "Connect Claap" popup:

1. Enter the **API Key** you generated at step 1.
2. Enter the **Webhook secret** you generated at step 2.
3. **Webhook URL** — Katalyz already shows it; copy it so you can paste it as the callback URL on the Claap side if you haven't already.
4. Click **Connect Claap**.

### 4. User-level connection — Google or Microsoft

The Claap integration works **alongside the calendar integration**. For each user to retrieve their own Claap calls in Katalyz, they need to have connected their calendar account:

- Each user opens **their profile** and clicks **Sign in with Google** or **Sign in with Microsoft**, depending on which provider an admin enabled at the workspace level.
- Without this user-level connection, that user's Claap calls won't surface in Katalyz, even if the org-level Claap integration is healthy.

## What syncs from Claap

Once connected, Katalyz can fetch your Claap **call summaries** — not the raw video recording or the full transcript. Those summaries can have been generated **automatically** by Claap or written **manually** by the user inside Claap; both surface the same way in Katalyz, as soon as they exist on the Claap side.

## Embedding a Claap recording in a room

1. Open a room, add a **Recording widget** to a section.
2. In the widget config, pick Claap as the source.
3. Choose a specific recording from your Claap library.
4. Save.

The recording embeds inline with playback and transcript.
