# I accidentally deleted a section

Heads up: Katalyz **doesn't have a built-in undo or revert** for deletions. There's no "Undo" toast, no version history, no trash bin. Once you confirm a delete, the only recovery paths are limited — and they all depend on acting fast.

## If you just deleted text inside a widget — try Ctrl+Z

If the deletion happened **inside a text widget you were typing in** (a word, a sentence, a paragraph), the browser's native undo may work:

- **Windows / Linux:** `Ctrl + Z`
- **Mac:** `⌘ + Z`

This is the browser's undo, not Katalyz's — so it only covers what you just typed or deleted in that input. As soon as you click elsewhere, refresh, or navigate away, it stops working.

## For anything else — contact support

For any deletion outside text — a widget, a section, a page, an entire room — there is no self-serve recovery. **Reach out to support as soon as possible** and we'll see whether we can restore from a backup:

- **Email:** contact@katalyz.co
- **Chat:** bubble at the bottom-left of Katalyz

Include:
- The room URL (or room name + approximate time it existed)
- What was deleted (which section, which widget, the whole room)
- Roughly when

Backups have finite retention — the sooner you reach out, the higher the chances of recovery.

## Prevention

Because there's no undo, take a moment before destructive actions:

- **Read the confirmation dialog** — Katalyz asks before irreversible deletes

- **Duplicate the room** before making big structural changes — safe playground, the original stays intact
