# Logging in with a magic link

Katalyz doesn't use passwords. Ever. Logging in is done through a **magic link** sent to your email — you click, you're in.

If that feels unfamiliar, think of it as a one-tap version of "Forgot password?" You always have access, you never have to remember anything, and there's nothing to steal if your password manager gets compromised.

## Your very first login

When your workspace admin invites you to Katalyz, you'll get a welcome email from **no-reply@katalyz.co** (or from your company's dedicated sending subdomain — see [Setting up a dedicated email subdomain](https://katalyz.crisp.help/en/article/setting-up-a-dedicated-email-subdomain-1tfsyk4/)).

1. Open the email.
2. Click **"Join [your workspace] on Katalyz"**.
3. You'll land on your dashboard.

That's it. You're logged in.

## Logging in on subsequent visits

To log in later:

1. Go to **app.katalyz.co**.
2. Enter the email address associated with your account.
3. Check your inbox for a new magic link.
4. Click it — you're back in.

Magic links stay valid for **48 hours**. If a link has expired, just request a new one — it takes 5 seconds.

## Staying logged in

Katalyz keeps you signed in on the browser you last used, so in practice you'll rarely need to request a new link. If you switch browsers or devices, the magic-link flow kicks back in.

## Troubleshooting

**I didn't receive the email.**
- Check your spam / junk folder.
- Confirm you're using the email address your admin invited.
- Ask your admin to resend the invite from **Settings → Members**.

**The link doesn't work.**
- It may have **expired** — magic links last 48 hours. Request a new one.
- It may have been used already — each link is one-tap only.

**I need to change my email.**
- You can't change it yourself. Email **contact@katalyz.co** and we'll update it for you.

## Why no password?

Two reasons: security and your buyers' experience.

- **Security** — there's no password for an attacker to guess, phish, or reuse across breaches.
- **Buyer experience** — when your buyers receive a Katalyz room, they access it the same way: one click, no signup. If that's the standard for them, it should be the standard for you too.
