# The magic code isn't arriving

Trying to verify access to a room via magic code, but the 6-digit code isn't showing up. Here's how to troubleshoot — mostly the same guidance as for missing magic links.

## Step 1 — Check spam / filtered folders

The code email comes from **no-reply@katalyz.co** (or the sender's branded subdomain). Check:

- **Spam / Junk**
- **Gmail "Promotions" or "Updates" tab**
- **Outlook "Other"**
- Corporate quarantine (Proofpoint, Mimecast, etc.)

Search for **"katalyz"** or **"access code"**.

## Step 2 — Codes expire quickly

Magic codes are short-lived (a few minutes). If you waited too long:

- Click **"Resend code"** on the verification screen
- Enter the new code promptly

## Step 3 — Check your email address typo

If you mistyped your email on the verification page, the code went somewhere else. Refresh the page, type carefully, and try again.

## Step 4 — The sender's access setting may be too strict

If you keep getting codes that don't work, the sender may have set very strict access rules — for example, authorizing only a specific email address that differs from yours.

Reply to the sender directly and confirm:
- They meant to share the room with you
- They're using the right email address for you

## Step 5 — Try on a different device

Mobile email delivery is sometimes faster than corporate desktop email (which goes through filters). If corporate filtering is slow, check your phone.

## Step 6 — Corporate filter is blocking it

Same as with missing magic links:
- Check your quarantine portal
- Ask IT to allow-list Katalyz domains
- Ask the sender to switch to a different access setting (less strict) for just this room

## Step 7 — Ask the sender for a workaround

If codes keep failing, options:
- Sender can switch the room to **Authorized emails only** (less friction than magic code)
- Sender can share the link directly with you via another channel (but this reduces the verification's security value)
- Sender can add you directly as a participant, sending a personal magic link

## Step 8 — Contact support

If you've tried the above and still can't get in:

**Email contact@katalyz.co** with:
- The email address you entered
- The sender's company name
- The link or URL you were trying to open
- Approximately when you requested the code

We can check the email delivery log and see what happened.
