Connecting Microsoft 365
The Microsoft 365 integration provides the same capabilities as Google Workspace — calendar availability, email threading, and meeting recording — for teams on Microsoft.
⚠️ Workspace-level connection requires org role Admin. Individual users connect their own accounts.
Connect the integration
Workspace-wide (Admin) — required first
The org-level connection must be enabled first. Until an Admin does this, individual users can't connect their own accounts.
- Settings → Integrations → Microsoft 365 → Connect
- Admin authorizes Katalyz for your Microsoft 365 tenant
- Once enabled, individual users can connect their personal accounts
Per-user
After the org-level connection is in place, each team member signs in with their own Microsoft account via OAuth (in Settings → Profile → Connected emails) to authorize calendar + email access for themselves.
What Katalyz accesses
The Microsoft OAuth screen lists the exact Microsoft Graph scopes Katalyz requests:
Scope | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Read and write mail in the user's mailbox (threads, drafts) so Katalyz can pull conversation context and store outbound messages it sends. |
| Send emails from the user's mailbox on their behalf (room invitations, follow-ups, notifications). |
| Read and write the user's calendar — surface availability and existing events in Katalyz, and create / update meetings linked from a room. |
Supported platforms
Google Workspace | Microsoft 365 | |
|---|---|---|
Calendar availability (Meeting widget) | ✅ | ✅ |
Email threading | ✅ | ✅ |
Katalyz Recording (Premium plan) | ✅ (Meet) | ✅ (Teams) |
Dedicated email subdomain sending | ✅ | ✅ |
Zoom works with both Google and Microsoft calendars for meeting recording.
Common setups
- All-Google orgs — only connect Google; skip Microsoft
- All-Microsoft orgs — only connect Microsoft
- Mixed — both integrations can be active; individual users connect whichever is theirs
Troubleshooting
- "Admin consent required" — Your Azure AD admin needs to approve the app at the tenant level before users can connect
- "Conditional Access blocking" — If your org uses Conditional Access policies, they may block Katalyz. Ask IT to allow.
