How Katalyz is organized

Understanding how Katalyz is structured makes everything else easier. There are four nested layers, from biggest to smallest.

Workspace

Your company's Katalyz account. One company = one workspace. Everything lives here:

Rooms
Members
Templates and content library
Branding (logo, colors, fonts)
Integrations
Billing

Admins configure the workspace. Everyone else works inside it.

Room

A branded, web-based space dedicated to a specific deal, customer, or project. Each room has its own:

URL
Participants
Access rules
Activity feed
Branding (can override the workspace default)

Most Sales and CS teams create one room per deal or one room per account.

A room can contain one or multiple pages, depending on how much content you're organizing.

Page

A top-level container inside a room. Pages are the centerpiece of navigation — they're displayed in the room's header (where buyers click to move between them), and also appear in the nav tree in the left sidebar.

Think of pages as the chapters of your room. Typical pages: Overview, Solution, Pricing, Contract, Next steps.

Pages can be hidden from buyers while remaining visible to editors (useful for internal prep or drafts).

Section

A part of a page containing widgets. Sections are how you visually group related widgets within a single page. A page can have multiple sections.

Updating task status

Many Katalyz rooms contain a task list — a shared checklist both you and the sender work through together. Ticking off tasks keeps the deal moving without back-and-forth emails.

What tasks look like

Each task has:

A title (what needs to happen)
An assignee (who owns it — you, the sender, or someone else)
An optional due date
An optional description or linked block

Move a task forward

Each task has a status — not a simple checkbox. Available statuses cover the different points in a task's life (e.g. Not started, In progress, At risk, On hold, Completed).

To move a task forward, open its status picker and pick the right one:

"Completed" when you've done what it asks
An intermediate status (In progress, On hold, etc.) to signal where you are without closing it yet

The sender is notified immediately of the status change. Your progress on the deal is visible — no email required.

Tasks assigned to you

Look for tasks with your name as the assignee. These are the ones waiting on you.

Common examples:

"Forward MSA to Legal"
"Get approval from CFO"
"Share room with your security team"
"Confirm pilot dates"

Styling sections and widgets

When you select a section or a widget, two pieces of UI appear:

An inline selection pill that floats above the selection — for quick actions (open, layout, edit content, design, more, ask AI).
The Design panel on the left — which becomes contextual, showing the selected item's design controls at the top, above the global page Design settings.

Both only appear in edit mode. In Present mode, buyers see neither.

Open (widgets only) — open the widget's full configuration.
S / M / L (widgets only) — per-widget layout / width toggles.
Edit content (widgets only) — edit the widget's content inline.
Design — open the contextual Design panel (see below).

Ask AI — gradient AI chip; starts an AI thread anchored on this element.

What is a room?

A room is the centerpiece of Katalyz. It's a branded, web-based space you create for one specific deal, customer, or project — and share with your buyer via a single link. A room can hold one or multiple pages, each with its own sections and widgets.

What a room replaces

Before Katalyz, a typical deal involves:

A PDF proposal by email
A pricing deck as a separate attachment
A Loom video pasted into a follow-up message
A contract in DocuSign
Meeting notes scattered in the CRM
Relevant case studies buried in the sales rep's inbox

Your buyer has to stitch all of this together — and they usually don't. The proposal gets forgotten, the contract gets lost, and the deal stalls.

A Katalyz room consolidates all of this into a single branded space, organized into pages the way you want the buyer to experience it.

What's inside a room

Every room has:

One or more pages — top-level containers listed in the left sidebar
Sections — visual groupings inside each page
Widgets (widgets) inside each section
Participants — people with access
Access settings — how visitors verify themselves
An activity feed — every visit and interaction logged

And optionally — depending on what you build into it — tasks, a signature envelope, embedded meetings, custom branding, and more.

Quick Tip — Test your room in Present mode before you send

Accepted Answer

Before sharing a room with a buyer, click [Present] (top right of the room) to see the room as a buyer would.

What Present mode shows

The room as a Viewer (or Buyer) — not as an Editor
Hidden pages and sections are hidden
Variables are rendered with current values
All block content in its final form

One exception: per-person views

Some actions render differently for each specific buyer — signature envelopes tied to a named signer, personalized tasks, etc. Present mode shows the generic version of these. The actual per-buyer rendering only happens when that specific buyer opens the room.

What to check

Welcome text has the buyer's name and company filled in (if using variables)
Hidden pages / sections are actually hidden
No internal jargon accidentally visible
All CTAs have the right links
Videos play correctly
Pricing values are accurate for this specific deal

Present doesn't track

When you use Present, it doesn't count as a buyer visit in your Activity tab. Test freely.

30 seconds that saves a deal

A 30-second Present check catches 80% of "oh no" moments — typos, broken links, stale pricing, visible internal notes. Worth it every time.

Bento widget

Accepted Answer

The Bento widget is a configurable grid container — a layout shell where each cell holds its own block. Drop one in when you want a structured set of small, equal-weight items: a feature grid, a team list, a tile dashboard, a "what's included" panel.

Think Bento box. Several compartments inside one frame, each filled independently, sized to the same outer shape.

How to add

On the floating build bar at the bottom of the editor, open the ⌄ All widgets popover and locate Bento.
Drag it onto the target section.
By default a 2 × 2 grid drops in, each cell showing an + Add a block placeholder. Click a cell, pick a block type, and that cell is filled.

The selection pill — Bento controls

Click the Bento (anywhere outside an individual cell) to select the container:

Edit resource (sliders icon) — opens the Layout settings popover (rows, columns, presets — see below).
Design (paintbrush icon) — opens the contextual Design panel on the Bento container itself.
⋮ More — Edit resource (same as the sliders icon) · Duplicate · Delete.

(No Size / Dark mode / Replace / Expand — the cells, not the container, hold the content.)
