Messages
Messages are the room's built-in inbox: email-style conversations between you, your teammates and your buyers, kept next to the content they're about. Comments and messages share the same panel and the same composer — a comment is simply a message linked to a section.
Opening the panel
Click Comments in the room's top bar (between Notifications and Share). The panel lists every conversation; Search conversations... filters it. An empty thread reads Start the conversation.

The composer
Every message is written in the same composer — in the panel, inside a step or task popup, and on the Actions page. From top to bottom:
Row | What it does |
|---|---|
To: | Required. Type a name to filter the room's address book (participants first, then CRM contacts), press Enter to accept the top match, or type a full email address. Recipients become chips with initials; ✕ or Backspace removes one. Placeholder: Add people, then Add another… |
Subject: | Optional (placeholder Optional). Only shown where the context doesn't already fix the subject — inside a step or action, the action's name is the subject |
Body | Write a message... — Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a line |
Toolbar | Attach file (paperclip) · Make private / Private toggle · Link a section chip · the send button in your room's accent color |
Who sees a message
- By default a message is visible to everyone in the room. Recipients in To: are who gets notified and who the thread is addressed to.
- Click Make private to restrict it. The toggle switches to Private and a hint spells out the audience: Only {first name}, Only {A} and {B}, Only {A} +{n}. Hover the toggle for the full explanation: "Only the recipients above will see this — click to open it to the room."
- Visibility is per message; recipients are per thread. You can send a private aside inside an otherwise open conversation, and edit the recipients of a reply in its own To: row.
Linking a message to a section
Click Link a section (Link this message to a section of the room). The chip turns into Click a section…, the room dims and you click the section the message is about; Esc cancels. The message then appears as a pill in that section's right margin — see Comments, mentions & threads.
Replies and edits
Open a thread and type in Write a reply.... Replies inherit the thread's recipients — adjust them in the reply's To: row if needed. Your own messages can be edited (Edit message...) or deleted.
Threads
A thread groups every message with the same recipients. Its title comes from the Subject, otherwise from the linked section's title, otherwise New Conversation. Threads started from a step or task keep the action's name.
Messages waiting on you — the Home page
Your Home page has an Awaiting your reply block listing the buyer messages whose last word isn't yours, across all your rooms. Click one to open the thread. If no answer is needed, click the ✓ on the row (No need to reply) — the toast confirms "Dismissed — removed from your replies". When the list is empty: "You're all caught up — No messages waiting on your reply right now." All messages opens the full list.

Drafting a message from an action
On the Actions page, open an action's ⋯ menu and click Draft message (above Edit action and Delete). The composer opens pre-addressed to the action's assignees with the action's title as Subject — you write the body. No AI involved; it just saves you the addressing.
Letting AI draft the follow-up
For replies to buyers, the Home assistant's Draft a follow-up flow writes the reply into this same composer (recipients, subject, body) and can rewrite it Shorter, Warmer or More direct. Read it, adjust, send — it goes out as a normal room message. See Your Home page and AI assistant.
Notifications
A new message in a room you're in pops up as a toast under the top bar (New message · {thread}); several messages pile into one card with a count. Email and Slack delivery follow your preferences — see Managing your notifications.
