Managing your notifications
What you get notified about — and how — is fully configurable per user. Notification preferences are personal (no per-room or per-org overrides): each user picks what to receive on each channel.
Where notifications are configured
Open the Notifications page in your account settings. You'll find every event you can be notified about, organized into 6 categories, with toggles per channel.
For the canonical reference article, see Notification preferences.
Channels
Each event can fire on up to three channels:
- Katalyz — in-app bell icon and notification center
- Email — sent to your account email
- Slack — sent to your Slack via the Katalyz Slack integration
Master toggles at the top of the page let you turn Email or Slack off globally; Katalyz in-app notifications are always on.
Frequency
For each channel you can pick:
- Instantly — sent as soon as the event happens
- Daily digest — bundled into one daily message
- Weekly digest — bundled into one weekly message
Recommended: Slack instantly, Email daily digest — avoids inbox clutter while keeping real-time visibility where you actually live.
The 6 categories
Each event is grouped into one of these categories. Toggling a category off mutes everything inside it.

Tuning at three levels
You can act on notifications at three granularities:
- Channel master toggles — turn off Email or Slack entirely
- Category toggles — mute a whole category (e.g. silence all Due Dates & Deadlines)
- Per-event channel toggles — fine-tune which exact event fires on which channel (e.g. mention on Slack instantly, but not on Email)
There are also Enable all / Disable all shortcuts inside each category to flip every event in that category at once.
Where notifications are sent from
The sender email address for outbound emails is configured at the workspace level — see Notification sender email for the subdomain setup (every plan) and per-user sender (Premium).
