Notification preferences
Katalyz has a lot of things to potentially notify you about — buyer activity, comments, tasks, due dates, signatures. You control exactly which events reach you and through which channels.
Access notification settings
Go to Settings → Notifications.

Three channels
Every notification type can be enabled or disabled for three independent channels:
Channel | When it fires |
|---|---|
Katalyz | In-app notification badge (the bell icon) |
Email to your account address | |
Slack | DM or channel message (requires Slack integration connected) |
Mix and match: you can have a notification hit only Slack, only email, or all three.
Global toggles
At the top of the page:
- Email notifications — master toggle for all email notifications
- Slack notifications — master toggle for all Slack notifications
- Email frequency — Instantly / Hourly digest / Daily digest
- Slack frequency — Instantly / Daily / Never (no hourly digest on the Slack side)
Frequency settings batch notifications. If you want to avoid inbox clutter, use Daily digest for email and Instantly for Slack (since Slack is built for real-time).

Good defaults
If you're not sure where to start:
High-signal notifications (turn ON for all 3 channels):
- You were mentioned
- A buyer opened an invitation email
- A task is late
- A step completed
- A resource was viewed (on rooms you own)
Low-signal notifications (turn OFF):
- A user logged into a room (too noisy for active rooms)
- Someone viewed a step's details
- Comment on a room you own (mention-only is usually enough)
