Katalyz Recording

Katalyz Recording records and transcribes your sales meetings — and embeds them directly in your rooms so your buyers can revisit conversations at their own pace.

⚠️ Paid module — €25 per user per month, on top of the Core plan. Per seat, never discounted. Transcription draws on your workspace's AI credits. To add it, go to Settings → Workspace → Plan & Billing → Modules and click Request to add.

What it does

Auto-record your meetings

Katalyz Recording joins your Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams calls as a notetaker bot. It records the audio and video.

Configuration: Settings → Meetings, set Auto-record meetings to:

  • Always — join every meeting
  • Never — never join automatically
  • Ask me every time — prompt before each call

Transcribe everything

After the meeting, the recording is transcribed into searchable text. Speakers are identified (where possible) and timestamps are preserved.

Embed in rooms

Add a Recording widget to any room section. Link it to a specific meeting. Your buyer can then:

  • Replay the recording
  • Read the transcript
  • Jump to specific moments using timestamps
  • Search the transcript for specific phrases

This is gold for:

  • Passing the baton between AE and CSM (no "what did they actually say" guesswork)
  • Sharing demos with buyer stakeholders who missed the original call
  • Re-referencing pricing conversations — your buyer can re-listen without asking

Configure your notetaker

  1. Go to Settings → Meetings.
  2. Set a Notetaker name — this is what your buyers see when the bot joins the call (e.g. "Charles' Notetaker", "Katalyz AI Notetaker").
  3. Set Auto-record meetings to Always, Never, or Ask me every time.
  4. Optionally create Summary prompts — reusable instructions for how transcripts get summarized (e.g. "Focus on action items and pricing discussions"). One is the default; others can be picked per meeting.

What it costs

The module is a flat €25 per user per month — no per-meeting fee. Transcription uses AI credits from your workspace balance (see How credits work).

AI on top of your recordings

Once a meeting is transcribed, the Katalyz assistant can:

  • write the AI Summary (objective and next steps) you see on the recording,
  • auto-fill the linked room's fields — deal value, stage, stakeholders, competitors — each value traced to the moment in the call (see Auto-filling room fields from recordings),
  • summarise today's meetings from the Home page,
  • feed room generation when you attach meetings to a brief.

Supported calendars and meeting platforms

Connect your calendar in Settings → Integrations to enable auto-join.

Recording meetings has legal implications that vary by jurisdiction:

  • Some regions (EU, California, some US states) require consent from all participants before recording
  • Best practice: inform participants at the start of the call that a bot is present and recording
  • Katalyz displays a visible bot name on the call so participants can see they're being recorded

For regulated industries, consult legal counsel before turning on auto-record.

Data retention

  • Recordings and transcripts are retained for the lifetime of your Katalyz workspace
  • Deletion on request — contact contact@katalyz.co to delete specific meetings

Alternative: external recording tools

If you already use Modjo, Gong, or Claap, you can integrate those instead — see their respective integration articles. External recordings can be embedded in rooms via the Recording widget too.

Use Katalyz Recording if:

  • You want one tool for recording, transcript and room content
  • You want zero setup beyond a calendar connection
  • Your team doesn't have a meeting intelligence tool yet

Use Modjo/Gong/Claap if:

  • You already have the tool and a workflow
  • You need advanced meeting analytics (call coaching, talk ratio, etc.)
  • Your team standardized on a specific vendor
