Leaving comments
You can leave comments on any section of a Katalyz room — it's the fastest way to ask questions, flag concerns, or confirm decisions without writing an email.
Comments attach to the section, not the widget. You can't drop a comment on a specific widget (text, pricing, document, etc.) — comments attach to the section that contains those widgets.
How to comment
Hover a section → comment icon appears
Hover a section. A comment icon (💬) appears at the side.
Click it to open a thread.
Type your comment
Write what you want to say. Keep it specific to the section you commented on — threaded comments are easiest to follow when each focuses on one topic.
Mention someone
Type @ and start typing a name to tag someone — they'll get a notification. You can mention:
- Anyone else in the room (members of the sender's team, or other visitors)
- Anyone you've invited to the room yourself
Post it
Click Post (or press Enter on some layouts). Your comment appears immediately.
Replying
Any comment can have replies — click a thread to expand and type your reply. Replies nest under the parent comment.
Resolving comments
When a comment's question is answered or no longer relevant, click the ✓ icon to resolve the thread. Resolved comments hide by default (you can show them via the filter).
Resolving is especially useful for back-and-forth clarifications — keeps the room tidy once a decision is made.
Editing or deleting your comments
Hover a comment you authored. You can:
- Edit — update the text
- Delete — remove entirely
You can only edit/delete comments you authored. Even the sender can't edit your comments (fair is fair).
Who sees your comments
By default, everyone with access to this room sees comments — the sender, their team, and any other invitees (buyers or colleagues).
If you need to discuss something privately with the sender, use direct email or another channel. Comments are not private.
Getting notifications on replies
When you comment, you're automatically subscribed to the thread. You'll get email notifications for replies (unless you turned them off).
To unsubscribe from a thread: click the thread → click the bell icon → unfollow.
Comment etiquette
Comments work best when:
- One comment = one topic (don't cram 5 questions into one thread)
- You reply in context (quote or mention what you're replying to)
- You resolve when done (so the room stays tidy)
