Inviting a colleague to the room

Need to loop in your IT team, procurement, legal, or exec sponsor? You can invite colleagues directly — no need to ask the sender to do it for you.


Why invite colleagues yourself


In most deals, you're not the only decision-maker. Your:

  • IT / Security team needs to review the solution
  • Procurement handles contract negotiations
  • Legal reviews the MSA
  • Exec sponsor gives final approval
  • Champion's champion — whoever else is invested


Katalyz lets you invite them directly — they get the same magic-link access you did, and you don't have to explain what the tool is every time.


How to invite


  1. Open the room.
  2. Click the Share or Invite button (usually top-right).
  3. Enter the colleague's email.
  4. Add an optional message.
  5. Click Send.



They receive an invitation email with a magic link. They click, they're in.


What role they get


By default, you invite colleagues as Viewers — they can read and comment, but not edit content.


Depending on how the sender configured the room, you may be able to invite them as Editors instead (can edit content). If you don't see the option, stick with Viewer.


You can invite multiple colleagues at once


Add multiple emails separated by commas. Each gets their own invitation email.


Limits on who you can invite


You can invite colleagues with any email address — Katalyz doesn't restrict this by domain.


That said:

  • If the room uses "Authorized emails only", you can only invite people whose emails are on the allow-list. Ask the sender if you need someone else added.
  • If the room uses "Magic code verification", anyone you invite will need to verify their own email to access.


What invitees see


Your invitees get the exact same experience you got — a magic-link email, one-click access, and the full room.


They don't see any indication that you invited them (vs the original sender) — it just shows up as a normal Katalyz invitation.


Your invites are tracked


Katalyz tracks who invited whom. This is normal — it helps the sender understand the deal's expanded circle (and is useful if questions come up later about who has access).


Revoking access


If you invited someone by mistake:

  1. Open the room.
  2. Go to Participants (or similar — varies by room).
  3. Find the person you invited.
  4. Click Remove.


They lose access immediately. Their magic link stops working.


Best practices


  • Invite deliberately — each person you add sees everything in the room, including pricing and contracts
  • Mention your invitee in a comment — so the sender knows they've joined and can welcome them appropriately
  • For sensitive content, use the access controls the sender set rather than bypassing them
