Video widget

Use the Video widget to embed videos — welcome messages, product demos, customer testimonials. Drop in a hosted URL (YouTube, Loom, Vimeo, and many others) or upload a file directly.



How to add


  1. On the floating build bar at the bottom of the editor, click or drag Video — it sits in the primary widgets row.
  2. Drop it onto the target section.
  3. The Select video picker opens automatically, with three tabs — New (upload a file or paste a URL), From this room, and From library.
  4. Add captions from Edit content on the selection pill (see below).


Supported upload formats: MP4, MOV, WEBM.


Supported sources


  • YouTube — public or unlisted videos
  • Loom — private and public
  • Vimeo — with standard embed permissions
  • …and many others — if a platform supports standard embed/iframe URLs, it should work
  • Direct upload — for self-hosted content (MP4, WebM)


The selection pill — video controls


Click the video to select it. The pill above mirrors the Image widget pill, left to right:


  1. Ask AI (gradient AI mark) — start an AI thread anchored on this video.
  2. Open (expand icon) — opens the video in the fullscreen viewer.
  3. Edit content (settings icon) — opens the Resource details popup with the video's captions and the Replace video action.
  4. Design (paint bucket icon) — opens the contextual Design panel (Layout & corners / Spacing / Background / Border / Effects).
  5. ⋮ More — Duplicate · Delete.


There is no Size, Dark-mode or Expand-on-click chip on the Video pill.



Sizing a video


The Video widget has no S / M / L switcher — size it by dragging the block's resize handles in the section. (S / M / L layouts exist only on the Document and Link widgets.)


Edit content — the Resource details popup


Open via the settings icon on the pill. This popup is where the video's captions and replacement live:


  • Title — with a Shown / Hidden switch. Auto-filled from the file or URL name, hidden by default.
  • Description (optional) — a short secondary line, with its own Shown / Hidden switch.
  • Add a quote — reveals a quote block: the quote text (with a Shown / Hidden switch), the author name, and an author photo.
  • Replace video — button (bottom-left) that reopens the picker so you can swap the source without losing your captions or design settings.
  • Cancel / Save.


Single video per widget


One widget = one video. For a playlist or comparison, add multiple Video widgets side-by-side (the section's Compaction setting controls the spacing).


Replacing the video later — preserve the design


When swapping content for a new deal (or updating a template), replace the video inside the existing widget instead of deleting the widget and adding a new one. Why:


  • All design settings — size, padding, radius, background, border, shadow — stay intact.
  • All caption content (title, description, quote, author) stays unless you change it.
  • You save time + your room stays visually consistent.


To replace: select the video, click Edit content on the pill, then Replace video at the bottom of the popup → paste a new URL or pick the new file.


Video sources


  • Upload from your computer — simplest for one-off personal videos
  • Content library — reuse a video across many rooms (see Adding assets to the library)
  • External URL — embed from YouTube / Loom / Vimeo / and many others


Best practices by use case


Welcome video (intro)

  • 30–90 seconds
  • Personalized — mention the buyer's name and company
  • Casual quality is fine — a Loom from your desk beats an over-produced ad


Product demo

  • 3–5 minutes
  • Focused on 2–3 key features, not a full tour
  • Embedded from Loom for viewing analytics


Customer testimonial

  • 1–2 minutes
  • Concrete outcome ("We cut onboarding time from 3 weeks to 5 days")
  • Pair with the Quote caption for maximum impact
