Adding assets to the library

Building up the library is what makes it useful. Here's how to add content — from the Library page itself, or on the fly while you're creating a room or a template.

⚠️ Requires org role Admin or Pro.

Add a new resource from the Library page

  1. Click Library in the left sidebar.
  2. Click + New Resource in the top right. The New Resource modal asks "What type of resource would you like to add?":
    • Upload File — documents, presentations, spreadsheets, or images
    • Add Link — a reference to an external resource or website
    • Add Client Reference — a client success story with logo and testimonial
  3. Upload the file or paste the URL, give the resource a name, and optionally a description and tags.
  4. Save.

"New Resource" modal with the three resource-type cards

The resource is immediately available to everyone in your workspace. If the library is empty, the same modal opens from the + Add Resource button in the empty state.

Add a resource while creating a room or template

You don't have to go to the Library page first. Wherever Katalyz lets you attach resources to something you're building — the Add resource chip in AI-powered room creation, or when creating a template with AI — the same Add a resource dialog opens and asks "How would you like to add it?":

Naming resources

A clear name is what makes resources findable months later. Use a consistent pattern:

  • Case study — Acme Corp (fintech, 500 users)
  • Deck — Enterprise sales master (2026 Q1)
  • Video — Product demo (3 min)
  • Legal — Standard MSA v3.2

Adding tags

Tags are the primary way resources get organized. Each resource can have multiple tags.

Common tag patterns:

  • Segment — SMB, Mid-market, Enterprise
  • Industry — Finance, Healthcare, SaaS
  • Use case — Onboarding, Renewal, Expansion
  • Content type — Case study, Deck, Legal, Demo
  • Time period — Q1 2026, 2025

See Organizing library content for more on tagging conventions.

The row menu

Hover a resource and open its ⋯ menu:

  • Preview / Download / Copy link
  • Update version — upload a newer file and choose where the update applies. See Keeping library content up to date.
  • Edit Tags
  • Custom Preview — set your own thumbnail
  • Delete — with the same scope choice as Update version (everywhere, or templates only)

(Replace and Version History no longer exist as separate items — both jobs are done by Update version.)

Bulk actions

The library grid supports multi-select:

  • Bulk tag — tick multiple resources, then apply (or remove) tags across all of them at once.
  • Bulk delete — tick multiple resources and remove them in a single action.
