Embedding meeting recordings in rooms

Meeting recordings transform rooms from static proposals into dynamic deal narratives. Buyers can re-listen to demos, reference specific moments, or share with colleagues.

Two widgets, two use cases

Two Katalyz widgets surface content from your recording / meeting-intelligence tools:

  • Meeting widget — attaches a specific meeting from your calendar (past or upcoming) and automatically surfaces its recording, summary / brief, and transcript. The most natural entry point when your starting thought is "I want to push this meeting into the room".
  • Recording widget — attaches a recording directly from your library (Claap, Modjo, Gong, Katalyz Recording) without going through a calendar event. Useful for content that doesn't necessarily have an associated meeting (an async Claap demo, etc.).

Both widgets are added from the floating build bar at the bottom of the editor, and open a picker listing the meetings or recordings available in the user's mailbox / library.

Supported sources

The recording / summary can come from:

  • Katalyz Recording — the native Katalyz notetaker (Premium plan only)
  • Claap — via Claap integration
  • Modjo — via Modjo integration
  • Gong — via Gong integration

No source picker. You don't explicitly choose "from Claap" or "from Gong" when you add the widget — Katalyz automatically relies on whichever recorder / intelligence tool is enabled at the workspace level (and on the Google / Microsoft accounts each user has connected from their profile). If Gong is enabled, your Gong calls surface; if Modjo is enabled, Modjo calls surface. To enable or change the source, go to the integration's page.

Embed a recording or a meeting

  1. Open the room in edit mode.
  2. Drag the Meeting or Recording widget from the floating build bar onto your page.
  3. The picker opens — pick the specific meeting or recording from your list.
  4. Save.

The recording embeds inline in the room section. Buyers can:

  • Play the recording
  • Scrub through the timeline
  • Read the transcript
  • Jump to specific moments

What buyers see

What's displayed is decided by whoever added the meeting to the room. Each embedded meeting has dedicated icons to toggle:

  • The recording itself (playback controls — play, pause, speed; speaker labels where identified)
  • The call summary generated by the source tool

You can show both, either one, or neither. Pick per meeting based on what you want the buyer to see.

Privacy: who can see the recording

The recording is visible to every participant in the room — the same people who see other room content.

If a recording is for internal eyes only, hide the section containing it — see Hiding sections from buyers.

Which source to use

  • You're on Premium plan with no other tool — Katalyz Recording is included, use it
  • You already have Claap / Modjo / Gong — use the existing integration
  • You have multiple tools — embed from the one most relevant to each deal (e.g. Gong for enterprise calls, Claap for async demos)
