Generating a room with AI

Instead of building a room section by section, describe what it should contain and let AI assemble it — structure, content and branding — from your prompt, your resources and your meeting recordings. You then edit the result like any other room.

⚠️ Requires org role Admin or Pro (the roles that can create rooms). AI room generation is included in the Core plan and uses credits.

Two ways to start

From "+ New room"

  1. Click + New room and pick a template (or Start from scratch).
  2. Fill in the room details — Company, Deal, Room Title, Status, custom fields — and click Continue.
  3. On the "How would you like to build it?" step, choose:
    • AI-powered creation — Describe your goal and let AI assemble the room (selected by default)
    • Standard setup — Add and arrange the room's content yourself

From the Home page

Type something like "Create a room for PayFit" in the Home composer, or click the Create a room chip. The assistant asks "Create a room?" — pick Yes, set it up and it walks you through the same choices one question at a time: template, company, deal, title, status, build method, then the AI brief. Use the form instead opens the classic modal.

See Your Home page and AI assistant.

Giving the AI something to work from

With AI-powered creation selected, you describe the room:

  • What should this room contain? — a free-text brief, e.g. "A deal room for PayFit with a product overview, pricing, security docs and a mutual action plan…"
  • Add resource — attach files, links or items from your content library. The AI reads them and reuses them in the room.
  • Attach meetings — pick recorded meetings with this account. Transcripts and summaries feed the content (only shown when you have meetings).

You need at least one of the three — a brief, a resource or a meeting — before Generate room becomes available.

The template you picked in step 1 still applies: the AI fills the template's structure and branding rather than inventing a layout from nothing.

Choosing the AI model quality

Every generation runs at a quality level you pick. Higher quality is more capable but slower and uses more credits:

Level

What it's for

Credits per room

Fast

Lightweight and quick

3

Balanced (default)

Best for most cases

5

Maximum

Most capable, slower

10

The quality is chosen per generation by whoever runs it — there is no workspace-wide setting.

Credits are deducted when you click Generate room. A standard (manual) setup never uses credits.

While the room is being generated

Generation takes a few minutes. You are not blocked: a "Generating your room" card appears top-right and you can keep working on the dashboard. It walks through five steps:

  1. Understanding your context
  2. Assembling sections
  3. Writing content
  4. Applying your branding
  5. Finalizing the room

When it finishes the card reads "Room ready — Everything is in place — take a look." Click Open room. Katalyz never redirects you automatically; the card stays until you open or dismiss it.

After generation

The generated room is a normal room:

  • Every section and block is editable — click to edit text, drag to reorder, restyle from the Design panel, delete what you don't need.
  • Room-data widgets (contacts, meetings, resources, fields, signature, action plan) are live widgets bound to your data, not static text.
  • Select any part and use Ask AI about this to have the assistant rework it — see Ask AI: your assistant inside a room.

Review names, numbers and claims before you share the room. AI can make mistakes.

Bulk creation

AI generation applies to rooms created one at a time. When you create multiple rooms at once (one per CRM account, deal or contact), they're set up from the template as standard rooms; open any of them afterwards and use Ask AI about this to have sections written or reworked. See Creating a room.
