Adding and reordering widgets
Widgets are the pieces of content that fill a section — text, image, video, CTA, signature, meeting, etc. (Sometimes called "blocks" in other tools — in Katalyz they're widgets.) Here's how to add, reorder, duplicate, and delete them.
The floating build bar
All widget-adding now happens from the floating build bar at the bottom of the editor.
Left to right, the bar contains:
- Cover and Title chips — toggle the current page's cover banner and page title on/off.
- Primary widgets (always visible): Text · Image · Video · Document · Step · Field · Link · AI block (beta).
- A chevron that opens the All widgets popover with the full catalog (Timeline, Contact, Spacer, Meeting, Table, KPI, Chart, Battle card, Before/After, CTA, Signature, Testimonial, FAQ, Tabs, Placeholder, Room, Bento).
- + Add section — covered in Adding and reordering pages and sections.

Add a widget
Drag & drop from the build bar — this is the only way to add a widget. Clicking a widget in the bar does nothing on its own.
- Find the widget — in the primary row, or open All widgets if it's not there.
- Drag it onto the target section of the page.
- Configure its content.
The AI block is flagged beta in the bar — see [the AI block article] for what it does.
Inside an action details sidepanel
When you open the details panel of a Step (action), it has its own widget-adding flow — typically a + button at the bottom of the panel that opens a smaller widget picker. The build bar isn't used inside that context.
Select a widget
Click a widget once. A light selection pill appears above it with quick actions:
- Open — open the widget's full configuration
- S / M / L — per-widget layout toggles (width)
- Edit content — edit the widget's content inline
- Design — open the contextual Design panel (see Styling sections and widgets)
- More — Duplicate, Toggle visibility, Copy link, plus a couple of coming-soon items
- Ask AI — gradient AI chip to start an AI thread anchored on this widget
Reorder widgets
Drag the widget to a new position. Within a section, reordering is direct.
For cross-section moves: drag the widget into the target section, or use the selection pill's More → Duplicate then delete the original.
Duplicate a widget
Selection pill → More → Duplicate. The copy appears directly below the original.
Delete a widget
Select the widget, then click the vertical ⋮ (More) chip on the selection pill and choose Delete.
Edit a widget
Click to select it, then:
- For text content — type directly (an inline text toolbar appears for formatting).
- For widgets with options (video URL, CTA destination, embed source, etc.) — use the Open chip on the selection pill to bring up the configuration panel.
Widget visibility
Individual widgets do not have a "hide from buyers" toggle. To hide content:
- Move it to a hidden section (or hidden page).
- Or use a Placeholder widget to hold space for content coming later.
Design & layout
Each selected widget has a Design chip on its selection pill. Clicking it opens the Design panel on the left, which now shows the selected item's design controls (Layout & corners, Spacing, Background, Border, Effects, Media picker) at the top, above the global page settings.
